The clear coat spraypaint I used brought the shine back to the scratched resin super-glaze surface. As you can see in the photos below, i masked off a rectangle within the scratched area and sprayed high-gloss clearcoat (krylon) over the scratched area. While the deep scratches are still there, the dullness is gone so overall it worked pretty well. The control panel looks much better now that the dull scratched area is gone and its all high-gloss. You can only notice it a very specific angles - where is before the repair it was obvious from many angles.
If I was going to do a real repair I would mask all the buttons and joystick, as well as the cabinet around the control panel and do a nice even coat over the entire control panel. This would avoid the "faded out" area where I over sprayed the entire scratch after removing the masking tape.
I will be testing a repair by adding an additional coat of resin next week.
